We pride ourselves on being able to provide a very comprehensive range of materials, and we are always seeking out new and interesting materials from quarries all around the world.
To appreciate the beauty of many of the materials, a large slab needs to be viewed. We are also able to provide clients with small samples to take away. These samples should only be used as an indicative guide, as all natural materials can vary from slab to slab.
Advice will be freely given on the suitability of any material selected for the proposed application.
Polished - A polished surface is the most widely used finish and is the most durable and resilient to stains. A polished finish truly brings out the depth and beauty in coloured granites, highlighting the natural quartz and unique individual patterns that all materials display.
Honed/Matt - Honed gives the stone a matt finish, and black honed surfaces are often used instead of slate, with granite being much more hardwearing.
The honing process does make the stone more porous, and it is therefore slightly more susceptible to staining than a polished finish. A honed finish would require more on-going maintenance, needing to be re-sealed more regularly.
Antiqued/Brushed - Antiquing the stone involves texturing the surface of the material. This creates a very tactile finish, and is suitable for use in kitchens, bathrooms and hearths. We currently only have this available in black or dark grey, although other colours are available by special order. It produces a truly unique surface with a soft finish.
